He was an American entertainer, philanthropis and recording artist. In the early 1980s Jackson became the first African-American entertainer following on MTV. Michael Jackson became a dominant figure in popular music. The legendary King of Pop popularized a number of dance techniques, such as the robot and the moonwalk. His other records also rank among the world’s best-selling, including Off the Wall (1979), Bad (1987), Dangerous (1991) and HIStory (1995).

Jackson did not write his songs on paper unlike many artists, the King of Pop dictate into a sound recorder and when recording he would sing the lyrics from memory as his great albums Got to Be There (1972); Ben (1972); Music and Me (1973); Forever, Michael (1975); One Day in Your Life (1981); Farewell My Summer Love (1984).

On June 25, 2009, Jackson was found insensible in bed at his rented mansion at 100 North Carolwood Drive in the Holmby Hills district of Los Angeles. by Conrad Murray, his personal physician. Resuscitation efforts continued en route to the Ronald Reagan UCLA Medical Center. Jackson’s death triggered a global outpouring of grief.
