Israel today expelled activists ‘Rachel Corrie’
The 11 passengers (five Irish and six Malaysians) and the crew of the merchant Irish aid to Gaza ‘Rachel Corrie’, boarded on Saturday by Israeli troops and diverted to Israel, will all be expelled on Sunday, said a spokeswoman for Israeli immigration.
“All the people aboard the ship will be evicted on Sunday, after signing a document renouncing recourse to Israeli courts against this measure, ” he told AFP spokeswoman Sabine Hadad.
Among the passengers pro-Palestinian, include the Nobel Peace Prize winner in 1976, from Northern Ireland, Mairead Maguire, 66.
The passengers and 8 crew members were taken on Saturday merchant at Ben Gurion airport near Tel-Aviv, to be expelled, after boarding the “Rachel Corrie” by Israeli commandos while trying to break the blockade of Gaza Strip.
