Toronto Earthquake
Toronto Earthquake – An earthquake shook Toronto today at about 1:45pm with a 5.5 magnitude on the Richter scale near the G20 summit, forcing the evacuation of some workers. The Earthquake shook Toronto for over 15 second.
The seimsmic tremor’s epicenter was in the province of Quebec in Ottawa Ontario, about 38 kilometers north of Cumberland, according to the U.S. Geological Survey, and it was felt in some U.S. states like Pennsylvania, West Virginia, Vermont,Michigan, New Hampshire, Ohio, New Jersey and New York.
In downtown Toronto, the earthquake also forced empliyees to leave their workplace, having more impact on the high-rises. Mr. MJ Dobis one of the maketing executive downtown Toronto said: “I was looking out my window from my desk when I saw the building swaying, the paintings on the wall shook and some books fell off the shelf, there was rumbling sound and my thoughts immediately went to the G20 summit held not far from here, and that perhaps there was a possible disturbance there..”
